Bring Your Own is a nomadic storytelling series that takes place in living rooms, backyards and other intimate spaces within the community. Each month, seven storytellers have 7 minutes to respond to a theme. BYO airs on All Things New Orleans and is a biweekly podcast on WWNO.org.

This was the winning story told on October 17, 2013 at Fortier Park, and later produced by Karen Gardner. The theme of the evening was ‘Thrown”. Here, Lindsey Bottinger remembers herself as a different person. During college, she was devoted to her faith and spreading it among others. But on one sweaty morning during a trip to Spain, everything changed...

*Bring Your Own is brought to you by Liam Daniel Pierce, Laine Kaplan-Levenson and Nina Feldman. The next live storytelling event is Thursday, April 3, in the outdoor courtyard of the Alvar Library in the Bywater. The theme is "On the Verge'; stories start at 8 p.m. For details, go to Bringyourownstories.com.
