Mayor Landrieu Predicts Voters Will Reject Crescent City Bridge Tolls

New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu has campaigned in favor of keeping the $1 tolls on the Crescent City Connection.

But he says now that he probably won’t win that fight, considering Jazz Fest and other events may prove more inviting than the polls.

Women's Final Four Traffic Advisory

The 2013 NCAA Women's Final Four tourney wraps up tonight, but traffic restrictions around the New Orleans Arena will remain in effect through Wednesday evening.

Dave Dixon Dr. between Magnolia Ave. and Le Rouge Street, and Le Rouge St. between Dave Dixon Dr. and Howard Ave., will remain closed until 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, according to the City of New Orleans.

2013 French Quarter Festival Traffic Advisory

The New Orleans Police Department has released traffic restrictions for the 2013 French Quarter Festival. The Festival begins this Thursday, April 11, and lasts until Sunday, April 14.

Throughout the Festival, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., North Peters/Decatur Streets will be  restricted when pedestrian traffic between Iberville and Dumaine Streets necessitates the closure.

Corps of Engineers to Temporarily Close Belle Chasse Tunnel

the Belle Chasse Bridge will carry one lane of traffic in each direction during the temporary closure of the tunnel.

The Belle Chasse Tunnel is closing for a week for work to stop groundwater from leaking into the tunnel.

The Army Corps of Engineers says the tunnel will close overnight — from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. — from Monday through Thursday. It will close 24 hours a day over the weekend, starting at 7 p.m. Friday and reopening at 5 a.m. on Monday, March 18.

The corps says more work will be needed to fully eliminate seepage, but the tunnel is expected to stay open after March 18.
