SAND Collective at Degas House

New Orleans, La. – The historic Degas House is the site of a new concert series this month, as a group of talented emerging jazz musicians known as the SAND collective [Same Art/New Direction] forges a unique sound.
The concerts are held Thursday evenings through the month of February from 7 to 10. February 17th features WATIV at 7pm, Rex Gregory at 8:30pm. On February 24th, The Session at 7pm and Sasha Masakowski's Musical Playground at 8:30pm. The Degas House is located at 2306 Esplanade Avenue.

Continuum Celebrates 35 Years on WWNO!

New Orleans, La. – The longest running early music radio program in the world is celebrating a milestone! New Orleans Musica Da Camera's weekly radio show, Continuum, born on WWNO back in 1976, will celebrate it's 35TH Anniversary on Sunday, February 6th.
Hosted by Milton Scheuermann and Thais St. Julien. Continuum airs Sunday at 6am on WWNO 89.9 FM.

Bizet's The Pearl Fishers

New Orleans, La. – Love,friendship,betrayal and sacrifice set the stage as the New Orleans Opera Association presents Bizet's The Pearl Fishers. New Orleans born soprano, Lisette Oropesa headlines this Indo-French love story. Performances are Friday January 28th at 8pm and Sunday January 30th at 2:30 pm at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts. The production is complimented with dancers from the New Orleans Ballet Theater.
