WEDNESDAY: Cancer Services' John Boudreaux; Port Allen Mayor Richard Lee; Dr. Melissa Stewart

Jim is away for today and Michael Danna, Director of Public Relations for the Louisiana Farm Bureau and host for "This Week in Louisiana Agriculture" is filling in.

Chief Development Officer for Cancer Services John Boudreaux joins Michael in the studio to discuss the services offered by the Baton Rouge based non-profit. He touches on how Cancer Services offers educational, financial, and emotional support, as well as their growing Bella Bowman Children's Program offering support for children diagnosed with cancer.

Newly elected Mayor of Port Allen, Richard Lee drops by the studio with his campaign manager Rose Roche to talk about his first days in office. He discusses his background as a Baton Rouge police officer, how he's getting to know Port Allen's Councilmen individually, as well as his future plans for the City of Port Allen.

Also, Assistant Professor for the School of Nursing at Our Lady of the Lake College, author of Practical Patient Literacy: The Medagogy Model, as well as founder of the Organization of Patient Educators, Dr. Melissa Stewart stops by the studio. She talks about Obamacare, educating Professional Assistants in the medical field, teaching nursing school students, and just what it takes to become a nurse and the costs involved.
