Many elections will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, including municipal primary elections for New Orleans mayor, city council and coroner.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

You can find information on the races in your area, including polling precincts and sample ballots, on the Louisiana Secretary of State's website:

"This is an important election for the City of New Orleans and we anticipate a lot of election activity," said Secretary of State Tom Schedler. "I encourage voters to educate themselves before they go to the polls by looking to see what’s on the ballot and double-checking their precinct location."

Jason Saul served as WWNO's Director of Digital Services. In 2017 he took a position at BirdNote, in Seattle.
