New Orleans, La. – The Coast Guard says two men aboard the Arena oil platform used a life capsule to escape the fire. They were picked up by a supply ship and airlifted by the Coast Guard to a Marrero hospital where they were treated and released. The Coast Guard says the fire that broke out Sunday morning has been put out. The rig 50 miles south of Grand Isle was shut down two weeks ago and not in production. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is now investigating what caused the fire. The Coast Guard says no oil appears to be leaking from the rig.
