Super Bowl Preview

WWNO's Jacob Mayer has been filing reports all this week leading up to the Super Bowl.

Here he is with his final look, a preview of this Sunday's game between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens.

The City of New Orleans will host its tenth Super Bowl this evening at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Super Bowl XLVII will match the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers and the AFC Champion Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens are looking for their second title, while the 49ers hope to earn their sixth, which would tie the current record held by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Many fans expect a very physical game Sunday, as both teams are renowned for strong defensive play and a commitment to the running game.

So far, the unquestioned media darling of Super Bowl Week is Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis, who is playing in his 17th NFL season. He is the only Ravens’ player remaining from their 2001 Super Bowl roster.

Lewis and the Ravens’ defense will try to slow down a fast-paced 49ers offense led by quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has started only nine games in his career.

Also captivating the media are the Harbaugh brothers: Ravens head coach John and 49ers head coach Jim. Super Bowl XVLII will be the first time two brothers have faced off in the Big Game.
