It's New Orleans
Peter Ricchiuti and Lauren Rudzis.

If you live in New Orleans, you're a part of the music business. Even if you never go to Jazz Fest or Bourbon Street, the revenue generated by music makes up a chunk of our local economy.

We're also tied into the empire of the world heavyweight champion of live music, Live Nation, through the local offices of Live Nation Festivals North America.

Live Nation's Chief Marketing Officer is Sig Greenbaum. If you’re a certain age you might remember Mr. Greenbaum when he was known as "Sig," on 106.7 The End. Sig is back on the radio today, as Peter Ricchiuti's guest on Out to Lunch.

Peter's other music biz heavyweight guest is legendary Kim Stephens.

Kim is just a regular guy at home here in New Orleans, but in the record business he's famous for discovering numerous bands who are household names.

From records, to CDs, to iTunes, to Spotify — few businesses are being forced to change as much as the music business. What's going on and what's next?

And what can we do about hunger in America and here in New Orleans?

Lauren Rudzis has the answer: Community Plates. Download Lauren's app, Go Rescue, and you can become a part of the solution. Lauren pitches her vision to Peter, Sig and Kim on this show. You can hear a longer conversation about Community Plates with Peter, Lauren, Sig and Kim here.

Peter Ricchiuti is the finance professor you wish you had back in college! His insight and humor have twice made him the top professor at Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business. After a successful career on Wall Street, Ricchiuti served for five years as Assistant State Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer for the State of Louisiana. There he skillfully managed the State's $3 billion investment portfolio.
