New Orleans Saints Make Pickups On Offense And Defense In First Round Of 2015 NFL Draft

The first round of the NFL draft was last night, and the New Orleans Saints had two picks.

The Saints’ first choice, the 13th overall, was Andrus Peat, an offensive tackle out of Stanford. Peat’s job will be to help the run game and to protect Drew Brees, who came under a lot of pressure last season.

He will join new center Max Unger, who came from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Jimmy Graham and a fourth-round choice — and the 31st pick this year.

The Saints used that pick to bolster their defense, selecting Clemson linebacker Stephone Anthony.

The Saints still have seven selections remaining. The draft goes through this Saturday.

Jason Saul served as WWNO's Director of Digital Services. In 2017 he took a position at BirdNote, in Seattle.
