The New Orleans Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Thursday night, the department announced in a press release.
The checkpoint will be conducted in an undisclosed neighborhood in Orleans Parish, beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 and lasting until 5 a.m. Friday morning.
Motorists are advised that they will experience minimal delays, and should have proper documentation on them, including proof of insurance and a driver's license.
"I would like to remind all drivers to always drink responsibly and use a designated driver," NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas said in the release.
