New Orleans, La. – A third police officer is expected to plead guilty Wednesday in federal court to a cover-up of shootings at the Danziger Bridge of unarmed civilians. Two people were killed and four seriously hurt. Officer Michael Hunter resigned after being charged last week with obstruction of justice and failing to report knowledge of a felony. Retired Lieutenant Michael Lohman and former detective Jeffrey Lehrmann already pleaded guilty in the coverup. Meantime, a police witness has been charged with lying to the FBI. Convicted felon David Ryder allegedly posed as a St. Landry Parish deputy sheriff and was armed during the confrontation.
