Louisiana’s Senate race has been identified nationally as one that could ultimately determine whether Democrats maintain control of the U.S. Senate.

There is about one week left to register to vote in the November election. October 6 is the last day.

On November 4, Louisianans will choose Senator Mary Landrieu or one of her Republican opponents, who include Baton Rouge Representative Bill Cassidy and Tea Party-backed Rob Maness, of Madisonville.

The Washington Post elections lab released new projections Monday that moved Louisiana into their "likely Republican" category, predicting the state's conservative politics will ultimately unseat Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu.
