New Orleans, LA – The Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Task Force has released its report and is now accepting public comments. Led by Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson, the panel looked at several challenges facing the Gulf, including the loss of wetlands and pollution carried in by the Mississippi River. America's Wetland Foundation says the report is a good start, but red tape and conflicting federal policies need to be resolved. The Sierra Club says the strategy needs more specific goals and plans before it can be effective. Comments will be accepted through October 26th.
