Jason Saul is WWNO's Director of Digital Services, a multimedia journalist and a member of the station's corporate media underwriting team, dedicated to fostering partnerships with local businesses in support of their outreach efforts and WWNO’s fundraising goals.

Jason heads up WWNO's sports desk, is the point person for digital initiatives and social media outreach, and is a spot news and features reporter during major events.

Jason, a native of New York (but a long-time resident of the Crescent City), has an extensive background in traditional, digital and social media, and the intersections between them.

Warriors Come Out To Play, Beat Pelicans 102-101

The New Orleans Pelicans, down by one point with 22 seconds to go, set up on the visiting Golden State Warriors. Jrue Holiday took it inside, looking for a pull up jumper, and couldn’t find one. He dished it to Eric Gordon on the outside.

1.8 seconds left. Gordon takes the jumper, and his game-winning three-pointer rolls around the inside of the rim… and back out. And the Warriors took home a 102-101 victory.

Saints Hold Off Falcons; Improve To 9-2

The New Orleans Saints have improved to 9-2 with Thursday night’s win over the archrival Atlanta Falcons.

Games between the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons tend to be close, even in a year when the red-hot Saints are again putting up record numbers, and Atlanta has pretty much completely imploded. Since 1991, 27 games between these two teams have been decided by a touchdown or less.

Pelicans Shuffle Active Roster Due To Injuries

The New Orleans Pelicans have placed injured center Greg Stiemsma on the inactive list and have activated forward Ryan Anderson, per General Manager Dell Demps, the team announced today.

Stiemsma suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee during the second quarter of Tuesday night's game against the Lakers in Los Angeles. An MRI confirmed the injury, and Stiemsma is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

New Orleans Police To Conduct Thursday Night Sobriety Checkpoint

The New Orleans Police Department's traffic division will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Thursday night, the department said in a press release.

The checkpoint will begin at approximately 9 p.m. Nov. 14, and last until about 5 a.m. the next morning. The NOPD says motorists should only experience minimal delays, and should have the proper documentation if requested, including a driver's license and proof of insurance.

"I would like to remind all drivers to always drink responsibly and use a designated driver," Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said in the press release.

National Weather Service Issues Freeze Warning For Wednesday Night

The National Weather Service's New Orleans office has issued a freeze warning tonight for portions of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi.

The NWS says temperatures will rapidly drop to freezing, or just below it, shortly after midnight tonight, and remain there until after sunrise. The warning is in effect from midnight tonight to 9 a.m. Thursday, along and north of Interstate 12, and for all areas of coastal and southwest Mississippi.

New Orleans Pelicans Sign Amundson And Childress, Waive Thomas And Onuaku

The New Orleans Pelicans have released two players and signed two others, the team announced today.

Forward Lou Amundson, who played 18 games with the Hornets last season before moving on to Chicago and Minnesota, returned to New Orleans today. The seven-year vet holds per-game career averages of 3.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 12.9 minutes in 327 regular season games. He's also appeared in 29 playoff games with Philadelphia, Phoenix and Indiana.
