St. Charles Parish Deadline for Assisted Evacuation is 3:30 p.m.

St. Charles Parish remains under a mandatory evacuation due to the potential for dangerous storm surge, winds and flooding rainfall from Isaac. Current forecasts have the storm making landfall near the mouth of the Mississippi River.

Through the duration of the storm the parish expects the potential for widespread power outages for an extended duration, as well as a loss of emergency and parish services. This also includes the potential loss of all sewer and water services.

Hwy. 90 to close in St. Charles Parish

Hwy. 90 will be blocked in both directions at the Davis Diversion in St. Charles Parish at 6:00 p.m. this evening (Aug. 27), the parish said in a press release earlier this afternoon.

There will be no through traffic in either direction on Hwy. 90 after that time.

St. Charles Parish announces mandatory evacuation

The St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center has called a mandatory evacuation for both East and West Bank residents as of 6 p.m. Aug. 26 due to the threat of dangerous storm surge and winds from Tropical Storm Isaac. St .Charles Parish declares state of emergency

St. Charles Parish has declared a state of emergency due to the approach of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Parish President V.J. St. Pierre Jr. signed the order at 10:15 a.m., according to a press release from the parish, in advance of expected 105 mph winds, higher gusts, and storm surges between six and eight feet beginning Monday night and into Tuesday.
