HNOC Offers Gateway to the Past

The location of the Historic New Orleans Collection is the 1792 Merieult House, one of very few surviving buildings from the Spanish Colonial period in New Orleans.

Five blocks into the French Quarter on Royal Street you'll find a museum, research center, and publisher dedicated to preserving the history of New Orleans and the Gulf South region. Although this institution is nearly 50 years old, it's often passed by tourists and locals alike.

On this week's Notes from New Orleans, Sharon Litwin speaks with the director of this overlooked French  Quarter cultural experience.
