New Orleans police say a man who thought he was going into a motel room with two lingerie-clad women was beaten up and robbed when he tried to leave after discovering they were men.
Police say the two cross-dressers were joined by a man who had been in the bathroom of the motel room on Airline Highway in New Orleans.
Officer Garry Flot says in a news release that all three hit the man several times on the head and face, and each went through his pockets. They took his cash, cellphone and credit cards.
Mandevillle police say a couple is accused robbing a 53-year-old man at knifepoint while the victim and one of the suspects were together after arranging a meeting on an online dating website.
The Times-Picayune reports 23-year-old Kasi Lynn Ferguson of Belle Chasse and 22-year-old Blaise Thomas Pertuit of Westwego were arrested Tuesday and booked with one count each of armed robbery.
Lt. Gerald Sticker says Ferguson and the victim arranged a meeting through the online dating website SeekingArrangement.com.
Shreveport police are looking for the person who robbed a video store then dropped the money after he was tackled by an employee.
The Times reports the robbery happened about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Game Exchange in southeast Shreveport.
Witnesses told police a man, wearing a gray huddie walked inside the business and pointed a handgun. Police say the bandit grabbed the money and attempted to flee the store.
Police say one employee tackled the robber, forcing him to drop the case. The gunman left the store running.
