President Obama's decision to publicly support same-sex marriage may have changed the minds of some Americans, according to a national poll. But in states that will vote on the issue in November, the impact has been mixed.
BATON ROUGE — Gov. Bobby Jindal says the GOP must push for a full repeal of President Barack Obama's health care law, after it was upheld by the Supreme Court. Louisiana's GOP governor has long opposed the health care overhaul, saying it will decrease the quality of health care and raise taxes.
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will address the National Urban League Conference on July 25 in New Orleans.
The conference by one of the nation's oldest civil rights organizations is focused on increasing employment for African-Americans, who now face a jobless rate of 13.6 percent, nearly 5 percentage points higher than the national average.
