Orlando Magic

The sliding New Orleans Pelicans staved off a seventh straight home loss Sunday evening, outlasting the woeful Orlando Magic 100-92.

Anthony Davis was once again the undisputed star of the injury-depleted Pelicans, racking up 22 points, 19 rebounds and seven blocked shots in just under 42 minutes on the floor. His rebound count was a career-high for the second-year forward, and marked his 20th double-double of the season.

Tonight’s Hornets game against the Orlando Magic at the New Orleans Arena proceeded like you might expect between two young teams with dismal records — a back-and-forth contest with long scoreless stretches by each club, sloppy turnovers, 41 combined fouls and other attendant miseries.

There was a lot of everything tonight, but the Magic had a little more of it. They won, 105-102.

Robin Lopez had a season-high 29 points and Greivis Vasquez scored 27 points as the New Orleans Hornets snapped an 11-game losing streak with a 97-94 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

Orlando had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, but came up empty on a 3-point attempt by Nikola Vucevic.

The victory was the Hornets' first since Dec. 3 and their fourth straight regular-season win over the Magic.

Jameer Nelson had 28 points and 10 rebounds for Orlando and Vucevic added 19 points.
