U.S. Department of the Interior

President Donald Trump signed an executive order last week calling for more oil and gas drilling. But the final call is up to the Secretary of the Department of the Interior.

 

On Monday, the secretary endorsed Trump’s plan -- and then some.

The oil and gas industry remains confident of the supplies available in the central Gulf of Mexico. The first oil and gas lease sale in that sector since the BP oil spill generated billions of dollars in bids.
