Hornets Frustrate Clippers And Win, 105-98

A rowdy sellout crowd of 19,060 was disappointed Monday night in Los Angeles when the New Orleans Hornets force-fed the Clippers their fourth straight loss.

Both teams played a rugged and physical game, committing a combined 45 personal fouls. The Clippers were cited for two flagrant-1 fouls, the second by Matt Barnes toward the end of the third quarter when he shouldered Jason Smith in the sternum after Smith set a hard pick on Clippers guard Chris Paul.

The Denver Nuggets beat the New Orleans Hornets Sunday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver. The Hornets, who took the lead early in the first quarter, tried to stay with the Nuggets but began lagging by halftime.

By the end of the third, the Bees were behind by 18, and they were never able to catch up.

"Not any good thing to take from a game like this,” said Hornets Head Coach Monty Williams after the game. “The NBA is a cruel league. They try to embarrass you every night, and that's what you saw tonight.”

The New York Knicks Overwhelm The Hornets, 102-80

The New Orleans Hornets dropped to second-to-last place in the Western Conference after their loss to the New York Knicks last night, 102-80.

This loss drops the Hornets to 3-6. They have lost their last 4 games, and the Hornets defense has given up more than 100 points in each. In the games the Hornets have won this season, they have only allowed their opponents an average of 89 points.

“We've got to get it together. It's hurting us. It's four losses in a row. You don't want to take that. You don't want to get used to losing,” said Hornet’s starting guard Greivis Vasquez.

Hornets Score Season-High 107 Points To Defeat Bobcats

The Hornets beat out the Charlotte Bobcats Friday night at the New Orleans Arena, 107-99, led by Anthony Davis, who captured his first regular season double-double (23 points and 11 rebounds).

Both Austin Rivers and Anthony Davis returned to their starting positions last night as they faced off against a Charlotte defense that gives up more points than any other team in the NBA. Davis, drafted this year as the first pick overall, also met up with his former teammate from Kentucky, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who was picked second.

Hornets Drop Stinker To 76ers With Franchise Record-Low 62 Points

The New Orleans Hornets broke a franchise record at the New Orleans Arena Wednesday night, during a dispiriting loss to the visiting Philadelphia 76ers.

Too bad it was the record for fewest points scored in a game.

The 77-62 loss came at the end of a disorganized offensive and defensive effort in a game missing key players on both teams.

The Hornets turned the ball over 20 times, and made just 23 field goals, including four 3-point shots out of 19 attempts.
