Seasoned Bulls Overpower Hornets, 96-87

The New Orleans Hornets kept it close, but were unable to overcome the Chicago Bulls, losing at home Tuesday night, 96-87.

Chicago’s Luol Deng led the victory with 20 points. He was supported by Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah, who combined to contribute 32 points.

Hornets Foundation Taking Shape at All-Star Break

Hornets rookie Austin Rivers says he isn't ready to give up on the playoffs quite yet, even though New Orleans is 19-34.

While Rivers' postseason talk sounds far-fetched, the source of his optimism is evident.

Once as bad as 5-22, the Hornets head into the All-Star break having won four of five and 14 of 26, including a 99-63 demolition of Portland on Wednesday night.

No Free Fries, But A Dominant Win As Hornets Stomp Trail Blazers, 99-63

The New Orleans Hornets put on an impressive performance Wednesday night, crushing the visiting Portland Trail Blazers 99-63.

New Orleans lead by as much as 39 late into the fourth quarter, and dominated in the paint, outscoring the Blazers down low by a 52-26 margin.

Star guard Eric Gordon was scratched from the starting lineup at the last minute due to a sprained hand, but New Orleans hardly needed him. Every Hornets player who dressed put up points tonight, including five players in the double-digits.

Millsap Leads Jazz Over Hornets 104-99

Paul Millsap scored 25 points, Al Jefferson had 22 and the Utah Jazz defeated the New Orleans Hornets 104-99 on Wednesday night.

Ryan Anderson's 3-pointer with 15 seconds left pulled the Hornets within 100-97 but Randy Foye and Millsap each hit two free throws down the stretch to seal it.

Coming off a 45-point loss on Monday, the Jazz trailed by 12 points in the first quarter before rallying to take a 10-point lead with about 7 minutes remaining.

Lakers Edge Hornets Tuesday Night, 111-106

Dwight Howard scored 24 points, Kobe Bryant had 14 points and 11 assists in another pass-first performance, and the Los Angeles Lakers hung on to beat the New Orleans Hornets 111-106 Tuesday night for their first three-game winning streak in five weeks.

Earl Clark had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Lakers, whose 18-point lead with 5½ minutes to play dwindled to 102-101 with 2 minutes left before Clark and Steve Nash hit big shots to clinch Los Angeles' ninth straight win over New Orleans.
