Anderson Helps Hornets Top Grizzlies 91-83

Ryan Anderson scored 22 points, connecting on seven 3-pointers, and the New Orleans Hornets beat the Memphis Grizzlies 91-83 on Sunday.

Anderson was 7 of 13 from the field, all of his attempts coming from outside the arc. He capped a late New Orleans surge that put the game out of reach, snapping Memphis' two-game winning streak.

Fellow Hornets reserve Jason Smith was 5 of 7 from the field for 16 points, while Anthony Davis was the only New Orleans starter to finish in double figures with 10 points.

Zach Randolph led Memphis with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

The Hornets lost a sloppy one at home tonight against the visiting Houston Rockets, 100-82

It was the fourth time this season New Orleans had faced the Rockets, and Hornets Head Coach Monty Williams said before the game that New Orleans knew the team they were up against tonight. And Houston knew them.

Hornets Show Up Big in 114-105 Win Over Kings

The New Orleans Hornets racked up the franchise's most points in a single game this season on their way to a 114-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings Monday afternoon in the New Orleans Arena.

The Hornets blew the game open early, heading into the half up 64-39, and leading by 27 at one point in the third. The Kings staged a third quarter comeback, crawling back to within seven late in the fourth, but were unable to surmount the Hornets’ strong defensive effort.

Warriors Outshoot the Hornets, 116-112

The New Orleans Hornets and Golden State Warriors battled it out at the New Orleans Arena Saturday night in a game that featured nine ties and 18 lead changes, but the Hornets couldn’t stay with the Warriors in the final minutes, losing 116-112.

With only 22 seconds left to play, and trailing 112-110, the Hornets fouled former Hornet Jarrett Jack in a desperation move to get the ball back. Jack made just one of his two free-throws, leaving New Orleans trailing by three.

Vasquez, Gordon Lead Hornets Past 76ers

Greivis Vasquez scored 23 points, Eric Gordon added 19 and the New Orleans Hornets beat the Philadelphia 76ers 111-99 on Tuesday night.

Ryan Anderson had 14 points, Xavier Henry scored 11 and Anthony Davis 10 for the Hornets, who are still last in the Western Conference at 12-26 — including matching 6-13 records at home and on the road.

Jrue Holiday led the Sixers with 29 points and 11 assists. Nick Young and Evan Turner added 14 points each while Thaddeus Young scored 12.

Anthony's Big Second Quarter Against Hornets Helps Knicks End Skid

Carmelo Anthony was hungry, and not just to end the Knicks' losing streak.

He wanted something to eat.

Anthony, struggling to keep his energy up while fasting for two weeks, snapped out of a slow start by scoring 18 of his 27 points in the second quarter, and New York ended its season-high, three-game skid with a 100-87 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday.

The New Orleans Hornets turned a dominant fourth quarter into their third straight win tonight, coming from behind to beat the Houston Rockets at the New Orleans Arena, 88-79.

Roger Mason, Jr. lead the Bees to the win with a perfect quarter, scoring 15 of his season high 17 points in the final period. Mason, in the 4th, was 5-for-5 from the field, including three from downtown, and 2-2 from the free-throw line. The Hornets outscored the Rockets 29-10 in the 4th.
