Rubell Family Collection

This week on Inside the Arts, the nationally acclaimed touring exhibit 30 Americans — a retrospective of contemporary African American art from the past three decades — opens at the Contemporary Arts Center.

Then we talk with master painter and sculptor John Clemmer, an iconic figure on the New Orleans arts scene, as he returns home for a walk-thru of his latest exhibit, Nine Years Later, on view at LeMieux Galleries. And, we sit in on a set with New Orleans pianist Jon Batiste and his Stay Human band.

This week on Inside the Arts, a tribe of long haired politically active hippies return to the stage as the rock musical HAIR opens this week at Le Petit Theatre, and a unique tour presented by the Preservation Resource Center highlights stained glass art in sacred places.

We round out with conversation with Neil Barclay, the new executive director of the Contemporary Arts Center.

Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:35 a.m.

NolaVie

Voices of the Arts, a series presented by NolaVie and WWNO — New Orleans Public Radio, explores the thoughts and visions of eight new arts leaders in New Orleans.

Through conversations we try to understand how they will engage with the arts and the artists in this already vibrant cultural community, about how they view us, what their goals are for their organizations, and what big plans are on their horizons.
