Hornets Score Season-High 107 Points To Defeat Bobcats

The Hornets beat out the Charlotte Bobcats Friday night at the New Orleans Arena, 107-99, led by Anthony Davis, who captured his first regular season double-double (23 points and 11 rebounds).

Both Austin Rivers and Anthony Davis returned to their starting positions last night as they faced off against a Charlotte defense that gives up more points than any other team in the NBA. Hornets Drop Stinker To 76ers With Franchise Record-Low 62 Points

The New Orleans Hornets broke a franchise record at the New Orleans Arena Wednesday night, during a dispiriting loss to the visiting Philadelphia 76ers.

The Hornets turned the ball over 20 times, and made just 23 field goals, including four 3-point shots out of 19 attempts.

Hornets rookies Davis, Rivers out vs. 76ers

Davis, the first overall choice in the 2012 draft, has averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in his first two games.

Hornets Waive Rashard Lewis

The New Orleans Hornets have waived Rashard Lewis, a move they've been expected to make since acquiring the 14-year veteran forward in a trade with Washington. The Wizards had sent Lewis and the 46th overall pick in this year's NBA draft to New Orleans on June 20 in exchange for forward Trevor Ariza and center Emeka Okafor.
