Critically-acclaimed author presents lecture on Obamacare

Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is presenting a free lecture about lessons learned from the “Obamacare” briefs filed in the United States Supreme Court. The lecture takes place on Friday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. in the College of Law, Room 308, and is open to the public.

Hosted by Ross Guberman, a critically-acclaimed author and president of Legal Writing Pro, LLC, the lecture will focus on the writing techniques used in the briefs filed in the decision.

Civil rights experts gather to prepare local lawyers on transforming city

As the city of New Orleans finds itself in the midst of new initiatives aimed at reforming corruption and improving morale in the New Orleans Police Department, top civil rights lawyers and judges from throughout the region will gather at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law to demonstrate the best practices and information on filing civil rights class actions in federal court.

Sitar artist set to perform at Loyola

Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan will perform sitar music in a concert set Sept. 7 at Loyola University.

The performance, set for 8 p.m. at the Nunemaker Auditorium in Monroe Hall on the Loyola campus, is sponsored by the Indian Arts Circle of New Orleans and Loyola University's College of Music and Fine Arts.

Khan is known for his innovation with the sitar. He will be accompanied by award-winning tabla player Subhajyoti Guha.

Loyola to celebrate New Orleans brass brand tradition

The Center for the Study of New Orleans at Loyola University will celebrate the Crescent City’s rich musical heritage with the second annual NolaLoyola “Beats of the Streets: The Brass Brand Tradition in New Orleans,” on Friday, Sept. 28. The full day of events is free and open to the public.
