New Orleans, La. – Ryan says he was told by Louisiana State University System President John Lombardi that he was dismissed. He says he was not given a reason. Ryan has been chancellor for the past seven years, in charge of UNO through Hurricane Katrina recovery and budget shortfalls.

The first lady has been promoting the Let's Move initiative, which has so far focused on eating healthy foods. Now, she says, it's time to encourage more children to earn the President's Active Lifestyle Award. That means exercising five days a week for six weeks.

New Orleans, La. – At least eight federal investigations are being conducted into the department, some involving actions taken years after the 2005 hurricane. U-S Attorney General Eric Holder says his office is working with the city to ensure a well-run police department,

Six New Orleans Police Officers Indicted in Danziger Bridge Shooting

New Orleans, La. – Four officers are charged with opening fire on people after the 2005 hurricane left the city in shambles. Two men died; one was mentally disabled who was shot in the back and stomped on by one officer while still alive. Two other officers are charged with planting a gun and covering up what happened. Holder says the Danziger Bridge case came to his attention shortly after he took office.
