Tulane: Devon Walker to Spend Holidays at Home

Tulane says injured safety Devon Walker cannot get around on his own but will be home for the holidays.

A statement released Monday by Tulane says "Devon is not yet mobile" but works daily to get better.

Walker says he's happy to be going home to see family and friends. He says he knows his fight is just beginning, and asks people to pray for his recovery.

Walker's spine was fractured on a tackle Sept. 8 at Tulsa.

He is at an undisclosed rehabilitation facility. New Orleans Saints players and coaches visited him there on Nov. 29, his 22nd birthday.

T-shirt, wristband sales will fund aid for Tulane football player

Tulane University says two of its seniors have designed a T-shirt and wristband bearing the name and jersey number of Green Wave football player Devon Walker.

Brad Girson and Jesse Schwartz started their own clothing line as sophomores. Now, the university says, net proceeds from sales of the shirts and wristbands will be donated to a fund established for Walker.

Walker suffered a cervical spine fracture Saturday during Tulane's game against Tulsa.
