The Archdiocese of New Orleans has ended the occupation of two churches where parishioners have been battling plans to permanently close the doors. Police made sure the churches were vacated.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans has yet to settle the disputed closings of the Church of Good Counsel and St. Henry Church in Uptown. Parishioners there continue to occupy the churches, hoping a settlement can be reached.

An organizer of protests in Catholic Churches closed in the Boston Archdiocese will be in New Orleans tomorrow to deliver a message of solidarity with people occupying two churches closed in New Orleans.
