LSU Baseball Game Postponed Due To Rain

The Wally Pontiff, Jr. Classic matchup at Zephyr Field between Louisiana State University and Southern Mississippi has been postponed due to rain, the Zephyrs announced today.

The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. the game will instead feature a contest between the LSU Tigers and Southern University due to scheduling constraints.

The teams made the decision to cancel the game due to heavy rains that passed through the area Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

UNO Baseball Still Searching for First Win

After a shaky start to their season, the University of New Orleans baseball team has still been unable to get on the right track.

The Privateers are still searching for their first win of the season after being swept in a road series against the South Alabama Jaguars over the weekend and dropping a game against the Tulane Green Wave Wednesday.

Louisiana-Lafayette, LSU Game a Sellout

Louisiana-Lafayette's game next week against in-state rival LSU is a sellout.

The university says all individual game tickets for the Feb. 26 matchup at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field sold out Tuesday just before 3 p.m.

The Ragin' Cajuns and Tigers are meeting at the "Tigue" for the first time since March 2002. That game saw Louisiana-Lafayette's Andy Gros toss a complete game shutout en route to a 7-0 win.

First pitch for the Feb. 26 contest is at 6 p.m.

National League Wins Baseball's All-Star Game 8-0

Major League Baseball's 83rd All-Star Game wrapped up Tuesday night in Kansas City, Missouri. The National League trounced the American league in an 8-0 blowout, with impressive performances by some San Francisco Giants. Melky Cabrera of the Giants hit the game's only home run and took home the MVP Award.
