The Wally Pontiff, Jr. Classic matchup at Zephyr Field between Louisiana State University and Southern Mississippi has been postponed due to rain, the Zephyrs announced today.

The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. the game will instead feature a contest between the LSU Tigers and Southern University due to scheduling constraints.

The teams made the decision to cancel the game due to heavy rains that passed through the area Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

The National League trounced the American league in an 8-0 blowout, with impressive performances by some San Francisco Giants. Melky Cabrera of the Giants hit the game's only home run and took home the MVP Award.
