Tomorrow morning, the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation will be running its 12th annual Walk the Beat 5K. Proceeds will help provide NOPD police officers with training and operational tools.

While a race can only have one winner, at the end of this race every participant will find a party at the finishing line. More information on the Walk the Beat 5K can be found at nopjf.org.

N.O. Film Fest to show "Explore" Documentaries

Tuesday afternoon, the New Orleans Film Festival will be showing two films from Explore, an organization that films and photographs leaders and non-profits in order to identify potential Annenberg Grant recipients.

Orca Guardians and Spiritual India will be shown Tuesday, October 14, at 3:30 p.m. at the Contemporary Arts Center. The New Orleans Film Festival schedule is available at neworleansfilmfest.com.

Nearly two dozen water and urban planning experts from the Netherlands have been reviewing the system in the city of New Orleans. They've come up with some ambitious concepts outlined today at Tulane University.

This Saturday, October 4th, is the Democratic primary. It's part of the election process that will decide who will go to the nation's capital to represent Louisiana's second district in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The primary is another chapter in the story of William Jefferson, the 18-year incumbent whose political career may hang in the balance.
