A series of yoga sessions on Saturday benefit the local Pilots For Patients organization.

The Yogathon features classes beginning at 9 a.m.  All interested persons are invited to attend.   Event coordinator Diane Moore says a variety of sessions are held throughout the day.

"We'll start with power yoga, then move into yoga for athletes, such as bikers and runners," she said.

Classes in the latter part of the day consist of Yen and restorative yoga.  Instructors lead participants during the duration of each session.

A $10 donation is required to attend.  Guests may stay for as long as they like during the Yogathon.

Proceeds benefit Pilots For Patients, a service for individuals needing transportation for specialized medical care at regional hospitals and clinics.  It is provided free of charge.

The Yogathon takes place on Saturday, August 8, at Louisiana Yoga & Paddle in West Monroe.
