Ty Segall Forms Yet Another Band, Releases New Songs

Annabel Mehran

Guitarist and garage-rock fanatic Ty Segall, already one of the most ridiculously prolific artists of the past few years, has dropped two new songs under yet another band name. This time the group is called "Fuzz." By our count this is the ninth band or side-project for Segall who, along with his own solo work, has recorded and performed as or with The Traditional Fools, Epsilons, Party Fowl, Sic Alps, The Perverts, The Ty Segall Band, and White Fence.

Fuzz features Segall on drums and vocals, with Charles Moothart on guitars. Their new single is "This Time I Got A Reason."

They've also got a "B" side called "Fuzz's Fourth Dream."

Segall had been teasing the new project on his label's website, Trouble In Mind Records, saying the identity of the group was a mystery. "We received an unsolicited email submission from these guys & despite our best efforts, cannot discern who is responsible for these jams. All we know is that we haven't been able to stop playing these two tracks over & over & over!"

With the mystery now solved, the first pressing of 500 copies for "This Time I Got A Reason" and "Fuzz's Fourth Dream" have already sold out.
