Entergy New Orleans says its workers are trying to restore electrical service to several thousand customers in the city.
Entergy spokeswoman Charlotte Cavell said the cause of Friday's power outages wasn't immediately known.
Between 10,000 and 12,000 customers in New Orleans lost power. Entergy estimates most of the outages will be restored by 9 p.m.
