More than six years ago, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke brought together five well-known musicians to back his solo album, The Eraser. Fast forward to today, and the eclectic group, Atoms For Peace, is preparing to release their own debut album called Amok.

Three of the guys - Yorke, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and drummer Joey Waronker - joined All Songs Considered from NPR's New York Bureau to talk with Host Bob Boilen about how the experimental band's collaboration came about, the inspiration behind Amok and how they get fans to dance at their DJ shows.

Before heading off to DJ a set at New York City art center MoMA PS1,Yorke showed us he's serious about his love for NPR.
