Andrew Condon and his wife Megan came to New Orleans from Rhode Island for a vacation, and a chance to re-energize and refocus their lives. Megan convinced Andrew that an interview session at StoryCorps' booth set up outside the World War II museum would be a great forum for taking stock of their seven-year marriage, and a focal point for looking toward the future.

Andrew and Megan reminisced about how they met: she worked a summer job at his Rhode Island sandwich shop. They discussed their two children: Tucker and Rebecca. And the time came to discuss what they learned through the interview process, and some surprises surfaced about their extended family. Andrew has a child from a previous relationship - and Megan says some rocky times may have been her own fault.

ALSO: In this extended conversation, Andrew and wife, Megan, reflect on their lives together - 12 years of dating, seven years of marriage and two children. They decide to discuss what they've learned about each other over those years, and Andrew is surprised over one of his wife's discoveries.

StoryCorps New Orleans interviews were recorded by StoryCorps, a national project to record and collect stories of everyday people. This excerpt was selected and produced by WWNO producer Eileen Fleming, with support from the WWNO Productions Fund and from Villere & Co., managing the investments of New Orleans' families for almost 100 years.
