The Unified Relay carrying the torch to the 2015 World Special Olympic Games comes through Monroe this Saturday and Sunday.
CraigOser, with Special Olympics Louisiana, says the relay will be in Monroe Saturday afternoon from 4-7 p.m. beginning near St. Francis Medical Center. On Sunday morning from 7-10 a.m., the course begins in Monroe, and crosses the Lea Joyner Bridge into West Monroe.
Residents are encouraged to line up along the route and cheer on the torch bearers. Route information can be found at www.unifiedrelay.org. The Games are scheduled to begin in July in Los Angeles, California.
