Seattle software testing company qalytics is opening an office at the Louisiana Technology Park in Baton Rouge.

A Seattle technology company that tests software is opening operations in Baton Rouge, a move that will create about 35 permanent jobs with annual salaries of about $27,000.

Gov. Bobby Jindal made the announcement Tuesday about qalytics LLC.  The company says it will open an office in the Louisiana Technology Park in Baton Rouge.

Qalytics will specialize in quality assurance and publishing services for the digital media industry. The company says it will start hiring soon.

“Every day, more and more high-tech firms like qalytics are recognizing that Louisiana is the perfect location to grow and expand their businesses,” Governor Jindal said in a statement. "Thanks to our thriving job market and strong business climate for tech investment, software companies continue to move to our state and provide outstanding career opportunities for our skilled workforce."

Governor Jindal highlighted the move as evidence of the state's "strong business climate for tech investment."

Jeremy Hymel is a member of the management team at qalytics. He says digital interactive media tax credits and a pool of talent in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas helped convince the company to come to Louisiana.

To secure the project, the State of Louisiana offered qalytics a competitive incentive package that includes utilization of the Digital Interactive Media and Software Development Incentive.
