New Orleans, La. – Roads around Louis Armstrong International Airport were jammed yesterday with thousands of Saints fans eager to cheer the team's arrival home. One was Frank Denny of Metairie, who arrived early enough to avoid mile-long walks some had to the caravan route.
He said it was the first time he'd made the trip to watch the Saints drive past, as hundreds of others have done throughout the season. Denny said he wanted to just enjoy the atmosphere.
Ed Estay of Harahan drew a crowd of his own. Several took pictures of themselves alongside his van that he covered in newspaper coverage of the Saints winning season.
The official Saints victory parade starts at 5 p.m. at the Superdome. The parade follows the Uptown route around Lee Circle, ending at Convention Center Boulevard.
