Originally published on Mon February 4, 2013 5:42 am
The Baltimore Ravens won this year's Super Bowl, fending off the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 34-31 after a power outage left the Superdome in the dark and delayed the game in the second half. The outage lasted more than 30 minutes. The Associated Press has more:
"The majority of the lights failed shortly after Jacoby Jones returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown.
"Play finally resumed with 13:22 left in the third quarter."
Our Original Post:
"There is no scoreboard, play clock or anything else working except for some ceiling lights," the San Jose Mercury News reported.
At the time of the outage, the Ravens were leading 28-6 against the 49ers.
CBS reports some of the lights are coming back on. TV announcer Solomon Wilcots reports the coaches are planning to keep the players on the field.
We'll continue to update as more information comes in.
