The power went out at the Superdome in the third quarter of the Super Bowl Sunday for more than half an hour.

The Baltimore Ravens won this year's Super Bowl, fending off the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 34-31 after a power outage left the Superdome in the dark and delayed the game in the second half. The outage lasted more than 30 minutes. The Associated Press has more:

"The majority of the lights failed shortly after Jacoby Jones returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown.

"Play finally resumed with 13:22 left in the third quarter."

We'll continue to update as more information comes in.

As for the cause of the outage, a spokesman from Entergy New Orleans tells The Times Picayune that service to the Superdome wasn't interrupted, meaning the issue was on the stadium's end.

NFL.com quotes an NFL statement after the game restarted:

"Stadium authorities are investigating the cause of the power outage. We will have more information as it becomes available."

The 49ers, who were trailing, have picked up steam with the lights back on. At the time of this update, the score is 28-23, Ravens still leading.
