The New Orleans Pelicans will open the 2014 NBA Summer League, matched up against the Development League Select team on July 11.
The Pelicans will then play the L.A. Lakers on Sunday, July 13, and the San Antonio Spurs at 3:30 p.m. on July 14.
The 11-day Summer League will take place on the campus of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. The annual event features many of the top young prospects just entering the league, or D-League stars looking for their big break into the NBA.
The D-League is the NBA's official "minor league". Over 30 percent of current NBA players started in the D-League, as well as all referees who entered the NBA after 2002. 40 current NBA coaches got their start in the D-League.
A five-round playoff will follow the three-game summer league schedule.
Streaming (by subscription) and more info can be found on the summer league website.
