MICHEL MARTIN, HOST:
Let's go now to Sarah Gonzalez. She's a reporter for StateImpact Florida and following the education conversation on Twitter at hash tag #NPREdChat. Sarah, what do you have for us?
SARAH GONZALEZ: Hey, Michel. So Arne Duncan mentioned third grade test scores and we got a tweet from ReadingByThird, which I imagine is reading by third grade, who says schools can't do this alone. Communities need to work with them to help students learn to read well by the end of third grade.
And other folks on Twitter also agreeing with Duncan and Spelling, talking - tweeting about the importance of retaining and attracting good teachers in low income schools.
MARTIN: OK. That's interesting. Sarah Gonzalez, please keep following things for us. She's a reporter for StateImpact Florida and we'll be checking in with her throughout the program for more of your tweets. Thanks, Sarah.
On Twitter Education Forum continues in a moment with Michelle Rhee, a reform advocate, the former chancellor of Washington, D.C.'s public schools, and Alberto Carvalho, the superintendant of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Please, stay with us on TELL ME MORE from NPR News. I'm Michel Martin.
