We've got some exciting news to share today: Our own Anya Grundmann, Director and Executive Producer of NPR Music, is part of the 2013 Billboard Power 100 list.
She's in pretty impressive company, as other names include Clive Davis, Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid, Ryan Seacrest and Jimmy Iovine. Now in its second year, the Power 100 highlights major players and influencers in the music industry today.
In a letter to readers, Billboard Editorial Director Bill Werde explained the standards set out for the Power 100, and what it means to be included:
[The people] on this list have ended up in positions of incredible power and influence based on sterling track records that show that time and time again they weren't just able to make the right call, but they were willing to make it when others were not. These are paralyzing times, when information overload can lead quickly to inactivity. The men and women on this list act, and they act decisively.
Since its launch in 2007, Grundmann has been instrumental in developing NPR Music as a premiere destination for music discovery and guided its innovative expansion into web and mobile platforms - from an award-winning iPad app to breaking new ground in what (and where) it means to see a live concert.
