NOPD Investigating Fatal Irish Channel Shooting

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened earlier this afternoon in the 2800-block of Chippewa St. in the Irish Channel.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 2:30 p.m. and found an 18-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators, lead by homicide detective Elizabeth Garcia, are in the process of gathering evidence and information leading to the identification of those responsible, according to police.
Police do not have a motive yet for the shooting.
