New Orleans will be saying goodbye Friday and Saturday to jazz trumpeter Lionel Ferbos.
The 103-year-old musical legend died July 19 at his New Orleans home.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday night at the Charbonnet Labat Funeral Home. Music and tributes will follow until 9 p.m..
Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Corpus Christy Epiphany Catholic Church. At 9 a.m., a memorial program begins. Music and spoken-word tributes will be featured.
Archbishop Gregory Aymond will preside at the funeral Mass.
A second-line procession with the Tremé Brass Band and the Black Men of Labor Social Aid and Pleasure Club will leave from the church after Mass to the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
