The New Orleans Pelicans have waived forward Rodney Carney, the team announced today.
Carney, a 6'7", 205 lb. forward out of Memphis, was signed at the start of training camp. He's played in 299 career NBA games, with the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies.
Carney was drafted 16th overall by the Chicago Bulls in 2006, and has career averages of 5.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 15.4 minutes per game.
The Pelicans play the Dallas Mavericks tonight in their second preseason game. The game starts at 7:30 p.m., and will be carried on WWL Radio, 105.3 FM.
