New Orleans Awarded Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Roadmaps to Health Prize

Paul Maassen talks with the CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and New Orleans Health Commissioner Karen DeSalvo.

New Orleans is one of six cities in the United States to receive the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Road Maps to Health Prize, a $25,000 award dedicated to improving health at the population level.

Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, the President and CEO of the Foundation, tells WWNO's Paul Maassen why New Orleans stands out from the 160 cities that applied. She's joined by New Orleans Health Commissioner Dr. Karen DeSalvo, who commented that receiving the prize validates the city's approach towards health, and helps propel it into being one of the most fit cities in the nation by 2018, New Orleans' 300th Anniversary.
