New Orleans, La. – Mayor Landrieu says his aerial tour included officials with the Corps of Engineers and retired Lieutenant General Russel Honore. Landrieu says it appears the spillways and levees will keep the Mississippi River flooding out of New Orleans. And he says he's praying that those in the direct path of the diversion will experience minimal damage. He says the city will be ready to send emergency personnel and equipment to help flood victims. Landrieu is working with the Greater New Orleans Foundation to establish the NOLA Pay It Forward fund. Details on how to donate are pending.
