New Orleans, LA – Mayor Landrieu says the Occupy NOLA protest that began in October has stayed past its welcome in Duncan Plaza across from City Hall.
"I encourage all of the American citizens out there to come into compliance with the law. We hope that you do so voluntarily. And if you do not do that in some point in time next week I will order the evacuation of the park."
He says the protest that was originally aimed at the policies of corporate America has evolved in New Orleans into a homeless encampment with sanitary and safety concerns.
