A proposal before the Lafourche Parish Council would end door-to-door sales at sunset each day.

The Daily Comet reports that the council will probably vote Tuesday on the proposal by Councilman Joe Fertitta.

Fertitta says several people have complained that their mothers were frightened when door-to-door salesmen knocked on their doors after dark.

The current ordinance allows such sales from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Fertitta's proposal would make that sunrise to sunset.
